Come and enjoy a relaxing mindful day working in an idyllic garden location. The studio is small so provides space for three people sharing sessions.
One to one tuition is provided and includes a mixture of hand building constructions, press moulding, slabbing and coiling. You will have the opportunity to apply textured surface decoration and coloured slip application.
Sessions will focus tile making, tapas dishes & garden sculptures, depending on group progress.
After graduating from Brighton University in 1993 I have been passionately teaching my craft for the past 22 years to a wide variety of age groups and abilities. I specialise in ceramics and mixed media constructions mainly figurative, organic forms using hand building methods.
What is included in the price?
All materials, equipment and tools are provided, along with tea, coffee, lunch and cake.
Please notify me of any dietary requirements.
Bring your own apron and wear suitable clothing, as clay can be messy! No opened toed shoes.
Work will be fired and ready for collection in 4 weeks or posted, extra fees apply.
Half Day Ceramic Workshops
10am – 12.30pm or 1.30 – 4pm
2.5hr sessions £30
Create a press moulded dish and use the art of slip decoration; you will be guided through the process of sgraffito, scratching a design through a coloured surface. You will also have the opportunity to throw a small vessel on the wheel with 1-1 tuition.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
Full Day Ceramic Workshops
10am - 4pm
This will include a variety of hand-building techniques and 1-1 practice on the throwing pottery wheel. Sculptural work or functional ware can be selected to make.You would have an opportunity to decorate your pieces using coloured decorative slips and press moulded surfaces. Your pieces will be fired and glazed and ready for collection in 4 weeks.
Lunch and prosecco, tea coffee and cake is also included in the price.
